23 September 2008:
New Song News!
Those who are close to Paul will know that he has been through a very tough and emotional time of late! But the good news is - that in true 'Songwriter Fashion' he is coming out a survivor! We are pleased to announce that there are two freshly-written, brand new songs in the set now! 'Winter Fires' and 'This Life' So watch out for these at the gig on 28th September at The Good Intent! and these may even feature on the new album!
Also our wonderfully talented fiddle, Harp and Cello player Fran Broady, (the new girl) has been busy writing songs as well during her summer holiday break in France! Looks like the band are going in to overdrive with new material! WATCH THIS SPACE!

11 September 2008:
Drummer News!
Sadly our brill drummer and ole friend Andy Baker is still having trouble with his cracked hip-bone, and has been advised by doctors and specilaists to 'Leave his kit alone' - the poor chap is still in agony.
In the meantime, standing in for Andy on the ole pots & pans - as he has been for the past couple of gigs, the new album recording and also will be at our next gig at The Good Intent on the 28th, we have our good buddy Phill Moody from ex-local folk rock band Five Legged Horse, and now with a brand new highly entertaining outfit The Throwbacks.
Phill has kindly agreed to sit-in until the end of November. Many thanks to him!

11 September 2008:
New Album News!
The band (including stand-in drummer Phill Moody) has been busy in the studio in Brighton, and over half of the new album 'The Bridge' is now recorded. Once the last few tracks have been done, the whole album will be mixed and ready to enter into your lives!
The album has attracted a good deal of attention after the unmixed version was played to a select few. Darren Beech from Folking.com said "From what I have heard so far, this album is stunning, and marks a dramatic step change for Ted Can't Hear Ya. This album is in a class of its own compared to all other Ted Can't Hear Ya material. I can't wait to hear the finished article."
We are looking to get the album out by late November. Because the title track 'The Bridge' was written by Paul, about his da's tragic death due to motor neurone disease, a special launch of the album is being planed to be held at The Good Intent in Rochester - with The Motor Neurone Disease Association there on the night to raise awareness and funds for their great work.

30 April 2007:
TCHY look forward to Sweeps' Festival!!
A message from
Paul Lucy and Andy…
Hi all,
We have recently been in
rehearsals for our gigs at this year's
Rochester Sweeps Festival - and these have
gone really well!!
We are all really ‘buzzed’
up about these gigs – and we will be playing
a slightly tweaked set – with a few surprise
songs!! We are also pleased to announce
that, for the Sweeps, our friend Lesley will
be joining us on fiddle and melodica.
We are really looking
forward to ‘cranking it up’ and hope to see
as many of you as possible at these gigs -
which are on...
Saturday 5th May at
‘Expectations’, High Street, Rochester, at
12.30ish!
and
Monday 7th May at ‘The Kings Head’, High
Street, Rochester, at 12.30ish!
From our point of view; we
won’t be running our ‘Ted Can’t Hear Ya’
stage this year – and as both our gigs are
lunch times - this means we get the rare
chance to enjoy the festival and get about
to see many of the great bands playing this
year!
After the Sweeps we will
be announcing our new full-time fiddle
player, and the new ‘expanded Ted Can’t Hear
Ya’ line up! Ahead of recording our new
album; now scheduled for late summer.
See ya there,
Paul, Andy, Lucy and all
‘The Ted Team'

19 March 2007:
A Fond Farewell to Tim
Just a quick note to let everyone know, that
sadly Tim Sumner our great friend and fiddle
player for the last year has had to drop out
of the band for the foreseeable future. Due
to time restrictions, work, family and
career commitments. We all know how only to
well what that feels like! We wish him a
happy retirement!
In fact
all of us wish him well. I am sure (and we
all hope) that one day he may return and
grace us with his excellent playing once
again.
We are
pleased to say that Tim’s hot seat (or
standing room space) at this years Rochester
Sweeps Festival will be gladly and
competently filled by our good friend -
fiddle and mandolin player Richard Peats.
However, the search
for a permanent replacement fiddle or
mandolin player is now on…. So if ya
fairly local, play fiddle or mandolin or
even a squeeze box - and like ya folk
‘cranked up’ then get in touch !!
Email
info@tedcanthearya.com or use our
MySpace contact links. We would be glad
to hear from any interested parties! Email
us and we will fill you in…
We look
forward to seeing at least some of you at
Rochester Sweeps Festival!

2 February 2007:
Ted's EP re-issued
exclusively on-line
Inspired by the 'No
Airport at Cliffe Campaign' in 2002; Ted's
EP 'All Hallows' Eve has been 'out-of-print'
for some years.
Although many of the
original CDs suffered from technical
problems; we have turned Paul's CD
collection inside-out, found a good one, and
with some modest re-engineering, are now
offering it on-line as freebie downloads -
complete with artwork!
Visit our 'Discography'
page, to get your own piece of Ted history.
